History
The Mentor Softball Association was formed in 1963 as a boys hardball league games. In 1967, a girls league was added composed of 4 teams that played their games at Ridge Jr. High School.
Our Association grew in numbers and leagues. A boys softball program was added in 1981 and quickly grew in numbers to become the largest league in the Association. In the early 80′s player numbers reached a high of over 1200 youth. At the time, we were reportedly the largest independent youth baseball/softball program in Ohio.
In 1986, the baseball members left our association and, together with the Mentor Garfield Baseball League, formed a new organization known as Mentor Baseball. Our focus became solely softball and, in 1986 the name was changed to the Mentor Softball Association.
